摘要：In this talk, we shall give some brief introduction to context-free grammars in combinatorics, and two effective tools arise from grammars: formal derivatives and grammatical labelings. As applications, we determined the joint distributions of several permutation statistics including peaks, valleys, descents and their variations,
and it turned out that the generating functions are related to cylinder parabolic functions. This is a joint work with Amy M. Fu.
